What is the PTO?

PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization, but we believe our community involvement goes way beyond that. The Carlton PTO is made up of any and all of us – caregivers, educators, and students – collaborating together to build a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging school community. We have a pulse on what is important to the teachers and students at the Carlton and are constantly coming up with new ideas and programs to support the needs of the Carlton community.

What does the PTO do?
The PTO serves a few functions. We develop new free programming both during and outside of school hours to bring students together to be creative, meet new friends, and just straight-up play. We also support Carlton educators, celebrating and thanking them the work that they do each day. Throughout the year we hold several fundraisers to raise money to support the school.
What kind of things does the PTO fund?

The PTO supports a wide variety of programs that enrich student learning, build school spirit, and strengthen our community. From field trips, school events, and classroom supplies to teacher appreciation, enrichment clubs, and student celebrations, PTO funding helps create a vibrant and inclusive school experience. Every dollar raised goes directly toward initiatives like the Snowball Slam Readathon, Spooktacular Fun Night, graduation activities, and essential operating needs.

How can I join the PTO?

The PTO is open to everyone! We hold monthly meetings to talk about and plan upcoming events and address the needs of the Carlton community. Whether you want to volunteer your skills and time, throw out some good ideas, or just listen in on what’s happening – all are welcome! Check our calendar of events for information about upcoming programs and meetings.
